AN: for the harlequin_bands romance novel challenge type thing!  A lot of people were very nice to me about this, and I stole all of their really fantastic ideas and that's why this exists at all.  Um, you can see here how I'm easily excitable and also who gets credit for the best bits.  Additionally, harriet_vane  assured me that this does indeed fulfill the rigid requirements of Romance Novel Fic and themoononastick  and mintyfiend  made me fix my mistakes and were generally more awesome than words can say.

uh. Have some happy making, cheesy ass music? Um, actually not all of it is cheesy, but a fair amount is.  Regardless, it is all happy-making.  This has absolutely nothing to do with themoononastick and her last entry or the other thing that she and I keep talking about and you should not let the title of the file convince you otherwise.  Just sayin.

I found my camera cord. thing. It had been missing for a really long time and I was sad, but I have it now, so yay! (also, if you're in the market for a digital camera, you probably shouldn't buy an Olympus, it takes lovely pictures but the memory card is not compatible with, you know, industry standards. Or my laptop's standards. Thus the USB cord becomes quite important.)

Anyway, I kind of want to do that picture meme where you tell me to take pictures of things and I do. So if you wanna, tell me. :D

1,300 words of untitled rambly PG-13 Ryan/Keltie, Ryan/Jon that I am calling Nothing Fancy, Nothing Much because I am a geek.  Mostly written because I felt bad for just negating Keltie's existence but not the other GFs in the last thing I wrote (that I need to answer comments to but I'm sort of overwhelmed, like happy good overwhelmed, but *hands*) so, um, yeah.  also for themoononastick because I hear tell she likes ryan/jon perhaps?  IDK, it's hard to tell.

Brendon buys a boat and Jon is all metaphorical (I mean he actually exists, he's just thinky). I took the title from If I Had a Boat because Lyle Lovett sings it so pretty and it is the most Brendon Urie-y song in the whole world, swear to god. themoononastick is a marvelous being, you don't even know.  Awesome she is, and nice and hilarious and there aren't enough adjectives in the world.  She did a stand up job of holding my hand and betaing this thing that is possibly too self indulgent to exist. But exist it does and I'm kind of weirdly attached to it and here is where I stop talking.

Point of interest (well for me, probably not for you):  the longest fandomy thing I have written is roughly 4,400 words.  I also wrote it in April of 06 (and called myself wordy AHAHAHA) is actually 7,700 words, I just have a terrible memory.  Since then I'm sure the average is like 1,000 words or something.  Possibly 500.

This is apropos of nothing really, I just have an unhealthy interest in the inner workings of myself am reading a lot of lengthy fic and writing a lot of NOT lengthy fic and one gets to thinking.  Like do I let the particular story I'm writing dictate where it's going to end?  Do I just get bored and shrug and say that'll do? I know not, I only know that I'm brief. 

I kind of want to see if I can write something, ya know, long.  But mostly I want to do that meme where you give me a lyric and I write you a drabble (what?  I'm contrary).  So let's do that. 

Or we could just talk length in general.  So, your longest fic is....what?  Tell me, tell me.

Okay, now I'm going to go read something long before bed.  Thank god I read a bajillion times faster than I write.

I am neurotic, but imntsaying and themoononastick are both super fantastic and reassured me that you can actually tell who is doing what to whom at any given point in this ridiculously short story.  Also they beta'd.  Like I said, super. fantastic.  They should totally tell me if I used whom right right there too, cause I honestly have no idea.

Also, god forbid I ever have to give something a title doesn't involve directly lifting lyrics from a song.
